Motivational Stories For Business
1. An Office Boy
A jobless man applied for the position of ‘office boy’ at a very big company.
The employer interviewed him, then a test: clean the floor.
“You are hired.” – the employer said. “Give me your email address, and I’ll send you the application to fill, as well as when you will start.”
The man replied, “I don’t have a computer, neither an email.”
“I’m sorry,” said the employer, “if you don’t have an email that means you do not exist. And who doesn’t exist, cannot have the job.”
The man left with no hope. He didn’t know what to do, with only $10 USD in his pocket.
He then decided to go to the supermarket, bought a 10kg tomato crate, then sold the tomatoes door to door. In less than two hours, he succeeded and doubled his capital.
He repeated the operation 3 times and returned home with $60 USD. The man realized that he could survive by this way, and started to go everyday earlier, and returned late. Thus, his money doubled or tripled everyday. Shortly later, he bought a cart, then a truck, and then he had his own fleet of delivery vehicles.
Five years later, the man’s company was one of the biggest food retailers. He started to plan his family’s future, and decided to have a life insurance.
He called an insurance broker and chose a protection plan. When the conversation was concluded, the broker asked him his email. The man replied: “I don’t have an email.
”The broker replied curiously, “You don’t have an email, and yet have succeeded to build an empire. Do you imagine what you could have done if you had an email?”
The man paused for a while, and replied: “An office boy!”
Moral
Don’t be discouraged if something is not in your favor today. Better opportunities are waiting ahead.
2. Value
A well known speaker started off his seminar by holding up a $30 bill. In the room of 200, he asked, "Who would like this $30 bill?"
Hands started going up.
He said, "I am going to give this $30 to one of you but first, let me do this." He proceeded to crumple the dollar bill up.
He then asked, "Who still wants it?" Still the hands were up in the air.
"Well," he replied, "What if I do this?" And he dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe.
He picked it up, now all crumpled and dirty. "Now who still wants it?" Still the hands went into the air.
"My friends, you have all learned a very valuable lesson. No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease in value. It was still worth $30. Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way.
We feel as though we are worthless. But no matter what has happened or what will happen, you will never lose your value. You are special - Don't ever forget it!

3. ️The Other Side of the Problem
Father was busy doing office work. His 10-year-old child would repeatedly come to him with some question and harass him by asking and asking. The father was getting upset by this action of the child.
While solving this, he thought why not give such work to the child, in which he should be engrossed for few hours. In that time I will finish my work.
This time when the child came, the father picked up an old book. The World Map was made on one of its pages. He tore that page of the book and then cut that page into many small pieces. Giving those pieces to the child, he said, “It was a world map made on the page. I have divided it into few pieces. You have to make a world map again by joining these pieces. Go go and add it. When the world map is made, then come and show me."
The child took those pieces and went away. Here the father took a sigh of relief that now the child would not come to him for several hours and he would be able to do his work in peace.
But within 5 minutes the child came and said, "Dad, look, I have made a world map."
When the father checked, he found that the map was connected correctly. He asked in amazement, "How did you do this so quickly?"
"It was so easy, Dad. The fragments of the page you gave me had a world map on one side, a cartoon on one side. I added the cartoon, the world map was created automatically."
The father just kept looking at the child.

4. The Obstacle In Our Path
In ancient times, a King had a boulder placed on a roadway. He then hid himself and watched to see if anyone would move the boulder out of the way. Some of the king’s wealthiest merchants and courtiers came by and simply walked around it.
Many people loudly blamed the King for not keeping the roads clear, but none of them did anything about getting the stone out of the way.
A peasant then came along carrying a load of vegetables. Upon approaching the boulder, the peasant laid down his burden and tried to push the stone out of the road. After much pushing and straining, he finally succeeded.
After the peasant went back to pick up his vegetables, he noticed a purse lying in the road where the boulder had been.
The purse contained many gold coins and a note from the King explaining that the gold was for the person who removed the boulder from the roadway.

Thomas Edison tried two thousand different materials in search of a filament for the light bulb.
When none worked satisfactorily, his assistant complained, “All our work is in vain. We have learned nothing.”
Edison replied very confidently, “Oh, we have come a long way and we have learned a lot. We know that there are two thousand elements which we cannot use to make a good light bulb.”
6. Thinking Out of The Box
Once upon a time, a merchant named Sam owed a huge sum of money to Tom, a money lender. The time came when the merchant ran out of the last chance given to him to give the money back.
Sam had a beautiful daughter who was very affectionate with her father. Tom asked the merchant to give all the money back failing which he will marry his beautiful daughter.
Tom was not at all good looking and ill minded and so the merchant was in dilemma. Tom proposed a new condition. There was a mix of black and white pebbles on the ground where they were standing. He will take two pebbles on both hands, one will be white and the other will be black.
If the daughter correctly chooses the white pebble, then Tom will write off all the debt and leave the marriage proposal too. But if she chooses the black pebble, he will write off the debt but will marry the daughter.
Tom bent down to pick the pebbles from the ground and the daughter noticed that he took black pebbles on both hands. The girl had three choices- to notify the same to her father which may provoke Tom, take the black pebble and sacrifice her life or simply refuse to take the pebble which might land her father into trouble. But what she did totally surprise Tom.
She took the pebble from his hand and ‘accidentally’ the pebble fell off from her hand to ground. She then asked Tom to see which color pebble was left in his hand to identify the color she picked. Tom had no other choice but to show the black color pebble in his hand and set both of them free.

8. Rocks, Pebbles, and Sand
Once a professor entered the classroom with a glass jar, rocks, pebbles, and sand. The students were amused to see what he was up to. First, he started filling the rock parts into the jar until he couldn’t add any more.
He asked the students if the jar was full and everybody nodded yes. He then started putting the pebbles inside the jar which went inside through the small gaps and he shakes the jar to allow the pebbles to get into those vacant spaces in between the rocks.
He asked the same question to the students and they again said that the jar was full. Finally, he poured the sand inside the jar which went through the minute gaps and got filled in the jar.
The professor explained that this is how you should set priorities in life. Rock is like your family, while pebbles are like your career while sand is like the least priorities in life and unnecessary quarrels and egos.
If you put sand on the jar first, it will get easily filled up leaving no space for rocks and pebbles.
Moral

10. Importance Of Struggle
Once upon a time, a man found a butterfly that was starting to emerge from its cocoon. He sat and watched the butterfly for hours as she struggled to force herself through a tiny hole. Then, it suddenly stopped progressing and seemed to get stuck.
Therefore, the man decided to help the butterfly. He took a pair of scissors and cut off the remainder of the cocoon. The butterfly then came out easily, although its body was swollen and had small, shriveled wings.
The man thought nothing of it, and sat there waiting for the wings to grow to support the butterfly. However, that never happened. The butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling with tiny wings and a swollen body, unable to fly.
Despite the man's kind heart, he did not understand that the struggle required by the butterfly to get itself through the confined cocoons and small holes once prepared itself to fly was to allow fluid from the butterfly's body to escape from its wings. It was God's way of forcing me. It was free.
